September—Dry Season

In late September, Palm Cove enjoys warm, pleasant weather, making it an ideal time to visit. You can expect daytime temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C with mild evenings.

 

It's the dry season, so you’ll likely experience plenty of sunshine and low humidity—perfect for our outdoor celebrations! We recommend packing light, breathable clothing, along with your swimwear and sunscreen to make the most of the tropical climate.

Palm Trees

The Great Barrier Reef

Just a short boat ride away, this world-famous reef is a must-see for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. Explore the vibrant marine life and stunning coral formations that make the Great Barrier Reef one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

Port Douglas

Located about 45 minutes north of Palm Cove, Port Douglas is another beautiful beachside town and the gateway to the northern parts of the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest.

Barron Falls

A short drive inland will take you to Kuranda, a village in the rainforest. Here, you can visit Barron Falls, an impressive waterfall that’s particularly stunning during the wet season.

Crocodiles and Jellyfish

Crocodiles may be seen in nearby rivers, but Palm Cove's beaches are safe if you follow local advice. Marine stingers appear from November to May, but in September, it's safe to swim and enjoy the ocean.
